  16. I've recently obtained my first Amiga - a s/h 500+ (no Hard disk), but
  17. its use has been hampered by strange floppy disk problems.

  19. When I attempt to format a disk it gets to 'verifing cyl 0' then and just
  20. says format failed. I haven't been able to save anything either without
  21. 'general disk error' appearing.
  22. Booting from a disk was fine until recently when a new problem occurred.
  23. Now it will only read a disk if it is write protected! Inserting a write
  24. enabled disk lights the disk lamp but it doesn't do much else.
  25. Now, before you all say get a new floppy drive, let me tell you that I've
  26. borrowed an external drive and it behaves identically!
